Building Human Body Systems with Makedo

Students will:

• Understand key organs of the body and their functions.

• Present their cardboard models to the class, explaining their design choice and how the system works.

• Become familiar with the Makedo tools and connectors by cutting, folding and connecting upcycled cardboard.

Students can:

• Identify the key organs and body systems.

• Explain the functions of different body systems by creating cardboard models. 

• Discuss different body systems and how they work together to make the human body function.

Skeletal system, muscular system, circulatory system, respiratory system, digestive system, organs

Skeletal system 

The skeletal system is the internal framework of the human body that provides structural support for all the other systems. 

Muscular system

This system controls body movement. Muscles work together with bones to help the body move! 

Circulatory system

Also known as the cardiovascular system, this system supplies blood, nutrients, and oxygen throughout the body. 

Respiratory system

This system allows our bodies to take in oxygen and push carbon dioxide out. 

Digestive system

This group of organs work together to digest and absorb nutrients from food.
