Spin to Win: Roto-Ring Gameshow Wheel

Students will:

• Design and construct a stable base that will support a rotating load without tipping or collapsing.

• Predict and test what happens to the wheel's movement if the axis is placed off-centre.

• Divide a circular plane into equal sectors (pie shapes) using a ruler and protractor to create fair "game zones."

• Use their wheel to collect data and compare theoretical probability.

Students can:

• Successfully build a game-show wheel with Roto-Ring that is functional and fun.

• Identify the centre of the cardboard and explain what happens when the axis is off-centre.

• Record results from the wheel and explain theoretical probability and experimental probability.
