Animals reimagined in 2D
Making cardboard creatures in 2D is a Makedo project that works really well with younger makers. One of the reasons for this is that the composition comes together much like a puzzle, with individual pieces fitting together or in overlapping layers.
Additionally, the format of the 2D construction has a relationship to the way that kids approach drawing and other representations in their artwork.
These colourful examples, so full of character, come from patrons of the aptly-named Smudge Artspace. The kids were given the task of making an animal with something that moves. This could be a tail, a limb... or even a trunk!
